TRADITION AND PRESENT

Matcha is considered the finest and rarest type of tea in Japan - rich in many valuable ingredients.

Over 800 years ago, matcha originated as a meditation drink for Buddhist monks; today, matcha has also arrived in European cafés as a trendy drink.

MANUFACTURING

Matcha is finely powdered green tea, which is obtained from high-quality “Tencha” leaves.
The long shading before harvesting produces valuable amino acids, including L-theanine.

These amino acids have a calming effect and give the invigorating character of the
Tea caffeine has a gentle note.

By depriving the plants of light, they produce more chlorophyll and amino acids, which give matcha its properties
give pleasant sweetness.

After harvesting, the leaves are gently dried and then slowly and without heat ground into a fine matcha powder in traditionally ground granite stone mills. This means that the matcha does not lose its valuable ingredients and is always consumed as a “whole tea leaf” in powder form.

This means that all the ingredients contained in the tea leaf are absorbed by the body.
Compared to other types of tea, this makes a crucial difference in terms of its effect.

Effect

The amino acid L-theanine harmonizes perfectly with caffeine: with its calming properties, it softens the stimulating effect of caffeine and thus ensures that
that the energy kick has a gentler effect.

The result: a clear, alert mind and better concentration for several hours.
The perfect balance of invigoration and relaxation.

Der Matcha "Wach-Effekt"

Matcha
is full of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, E and calcium
but above all also the amino acid L-theanine & antioxidants
like epigallocatechin gallate.

Matcha has the highest known value of cell-protecting antioxidants in one
Natural product.
This makes it a true fountain of youth and a star among superfoods.
The antioxidant ability of matcha tea, for example, exceeds that of goji berries, pomegranates or blueberries many times over.

It is measured using the ORAC value (Oxygen Radical Absorbing Capacity). With an ORAC value of over 1300 units per gram, matcha is a natural miracle weapon against free radicals and the undisputed leader among all “superfoods”! Simple copies such as green tea powder have barely noticeable effects and do not have the extensive ingredient profile of the original.
